DATES: 1792
CREATOR: David Glenn and Steven Cleaver
EXTENT: One file folder
SCOPE: This collection contains a land survey for a plot of 6000 acres for John Crow. Based on the small drawing in the upper left corner of the document, the inclusion of the plot being in Nelson County, and being on or near the Ohio River, it is known that this plot of land was in Kentucky, in the original Nelson County as it was chartered in 1784 before Kentucky officially became a state 8 years later. In 1792, Nelson County was much larger than now and spanned the area where Blackford Creek fed into the Ohio River, an area which is now in Hancock County. This land survey mainly includes physical landmarks of the 6000 acres that mark its boundaries. There is no indication of if the land was bought by John Crow or was given to him. The two signatures at the bottom of the document indicate that the land was surveyed by David Glenn and Steven Cleaver.
