M-674: Rocky Mountain Field Trip Scrapbook Collection

ABSTRACT: Four-volume scrapbook series with photographs and typescript, documenting a trip in the Midwest and mountain west regions. 

SCOPE: This collection includes about 650 photos and a 35,000-word typescript, which documents a bus trip taken by a group from Eastern Illinois University in the summer of 1952 through the Midwest, upper Midwest, and western mountain states. Topics include geology, geography, and the the Native American residential school in Pipestone, Minnesota. The typescript was composed and arranged by professors and librarians Mable M. Booker and Louise Kirby.

ACCESS: This is collection M-674. This collection is available for on-site use only in the Rare Book and Manuscripts Reading Room. Some of the collection may be photocopied, digitally scanned or photographed, depending on condition. Researchers are advised to call ahead concerning changes in hours due to University intersessions and holidays. The St. Louis Mercantile Library is located on levels one and two of the Thomas Jefferson Library building.
