SCOPE: This collection contains two written documents detailing the sale of 40 acres of land. One document includes all the details of the sale, and the second document contains a survey of the land sold and a drawing of the land area. The first document explains that John L. Thompson paid $850 for 40 acres of land that was to be deeded by John Vandeventer to Mrs. Jane E. Cowherd and her husband David. The second document is a survey of that land, including a drawing of the parameter of the 40 acres and signed by W.L. Comb. The drawing includes an intersection of the Middle Fork and South Fork of Salt River bisecting an area of the land, which is located in Monroe County, Missouri.
