SCOPE: This collection includes a land grant signed by President Martin Van Buren. The document grants William Brewer of Marion County, Illinois a parcel of forty acres in Vandalia, Illinois. The grant is dated October 10, 1840 and includes a seal for the United States General Land Office in the lower left corner.
