M-471 Ladies' Sewing Society Collection

ABSTRACT: Materials related to a Ladies' Sewing Society, 1853-1885.

SCOPE: This collection is comprised materials related to a Ladies’ Sewing Society. The collection includes an 1865 lettersheet for the Portland Price-Current, addressed to Mr. Geo. E. Berry in Burnham, Maine, as well as a January 1885 edition of the San Francisco Prices Current. The collection also includes an account book from the Treasurer of the Ladies’ Sewing Society (later referred to as The Ladies’ Congregational Benevolent Society) at the Congregational Church in Chester, Vermont. The account book is dated between 1853 and 1883.

EXTENT: Two folders.

ACCESS: Due to the fragile nature of this collection, physical access may be restricted. Please contact the library for further information. The St. Louis Mercantile Library is located on levels one and two of the Thomas Jefferson Library building on the University of Missouri-St. Louis’ north campus.
