Separated Materials note Two books that were donated with the papers have been moved to the Mercantile Library's rare books collections. The books are "The Deserted Village" and "Columbia Missouri Herald Twenty-Fifth Anniversary April, 1895."

This collection consists of 19 letters written to Ms. Elizabeth Gentry Sayad or Mrs. Mary Denny, from important personages. The letters are both handwritten and typescript, in some cases mimeographs or copies.
