University Funds used for Alcohol
POLICY: In order to use University-administered funds for the purchase of beer and wine for a university-sponsored event, the following three requirements must be met:
- All persons attending the event must comply with applicable federal, state, and University regulations. The legal age to consume alcohol in Missouri is 21. The University reserves the right to request proof of age of any person being served. Alcohol will be served up to one hour before the event ends.
- The event must be held on campus.
- The event must include non-campus guests; and
- The event must be approved in advance by the Provost or the appropriate Vice Chancellor. No grant funds can be used for alcoholic beverages.
- Liquor license mandates that all alcoholic beverages must be purchased and served by the University’s contracted food services. There will be a charge for this service.
PROCEDURE:
- The Alcohol Form must be completed at least 21 days prior to the event for the department's Business Manager, Dean/Department Head, and Provost/Vice Chancellor to approve.
- After receiving the appropriate approvals, you will receive a notification of the approval.
- After receiving the appropriate approvals, this form will be forwarded to UMSL Event Operations (379 MSC), your department's business manager, and Triton Catering.
- After the event, the form must be attached to the voucher when paying for the alcohol.
