I received my Doctorate from Saint Louis University. My career began as an Art Teacher at Paseo High School in Kansas City, Missouri. During my career, I also served as a building administrator, an assistant superintendent for human resources in two large St. Louis area school districts, the Superintendent of the Wentzville School District, and Executive Director of Alternative Schools in the Saint Louis School District.
During my previous university experiences, I attained the rank of Associate Professor in Education at Lindenwood University, and Director of School and Professional Counseling programs at the same University. I have taught a variety of Education courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
In 2006, I took the position as Executive Director of Alternative Schools with the St. Louis City Public Schools. There I was responsible for placing at-risk students into one of 11 different types of alternative school environments. I am also experienced in private charter school consulting.
My wife and I live in St. Joseph, Missouri. St. Joseph is about 50 miles north of Kansas City. I never go to the main UMSL campus in St. Louis, but I am in Kansas City almost every day supporting my advisees in their schools.
