Emily Eden started her journey at UMSL in 2019, then graduated in 2022 with her Bachelors of Liberal Studies in Math and Computer Science. Having spent a few semesters as a student in the College of Education, she was honored and excited to start working as a Business Support Specialist I in the fall of 2023. She now works as a Business Support Specialist II, with a focus on serving the grant teams of the College of Education with budgeting, reporting, and procurement needs. She also performs various financial administrative duties for the college as a whole, including assisting with contract processing and financial reporting.
Emily invests a lot of energy into fostering a fun and engaging work atmosphere through non-traditional means, like hiding tiny ducks to surprise coworkers, or creating a frog hunt using technology such as QR codes (@coe_find_a_frog on Instagram). She highly values the importance of balancing productivity with a positive work culture, believing that enjoying the environment you work in is crucial for maintaining motivation and success. She emphasizes this belief with seasonal office decorating. Emily also brings this creativity into the work she does, creating visually appealing training materials and other informational in-office displays.
In addition to her professional creative endeavors, Emily is highly skilled with excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Her background in programming makes her highly efficient in developing formulas and finding ways to problem-solve with Excel's capabilities. She is continuing to improve these and other skills by currently pursuing her MBA in Finance at UMSL.
