Double Major, Minor, Certificates with Major

The department uses the following policies regarding departmental degrees, certificates, minors, and double degrees. 

Courses for Certificates

A course can be used for a degree and for a certificate. A course can be used for more than one certificate.

Undergraduate Minor

Students graduating with any degree from the department cannot also have the CS minor.

Undergraduate Certificate with a BS Degree

Any undergraduate departmental major can complete any undergraduate departmental certificate, except for the following combinations
  1. Any departmental major and the Programming Certificate
  2. BS in Cybersecurity and the Cybersecurity Certificate
  3. BS in Data Science and the Data Science Certificate

Undergraduate Double Majors

Students can graduate with double majors in the department.

Graduate Certificate with any Graduate Degree

Any graduate departmental student can complete any graduate departmental certificate at any time except:

  • MS in Cybersecurity and the Cybersecurity Graduate Certificate
