The department uses the following policies regarding degrees with certificates and double degrees.

Courses for Certificates

A course can be used for a degree and for a certificate. A course can be used for more than one certificate.

Undergraduate Minor

Students graduating with any degree cannot also have the CS minor.

Undergraduate Certificate with a BS Degree

Any undergraduate major can complete any undergraduate certificate at any time up to graduation
except for the following combinations which allow the certificate only in semesters prior to degree graduation.
  1. Any departmental major and the Programming Certificate
  2. BS in Cybersecurity and the Cybersecurity Certificate
  3. BS in Data Science and the Data Science Certificate

Undergraduate Double Majors

Students can graduate with double majors in the department.

Graduate Certificate with any Graduate Degree

Any graduate student can complete any graduate certificate at any time except:
Students graduating with MS in Cybersecurity can complete the Cybersecurity Graduate Certificate only in semesters prior to MS graduation.
