Richard retired as Curators’ Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice in 2014, after many happy years at UMSL. He then joined the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Georgia State University, retiring from there as Regents’ Professor in 2021. He has written on a wide range of criminological topics, but his primary research interest centers on the decision making of active street criminals in real-life settings and circumstances.
