Our Mission
The Institute for Women’s and Gender Studies has three central missions:
- to provide a comprehensive undergraduate & graduate gender studies curriculum
- to support research on gender and women’s issues
- to sponsor events and provide community outreach
Institute faculty engage in disciplinary and interdisciplinary scholarship to enhance our understanding of the ways in which gender, sex, and sexuality have structured human society and experience across time and cultures.
