Welcome to UMSL | Economics!

Our faculty and staff are committed to your success. Economics is demanding but it is also very rewarding.   Our students acquire knowledge and a versatile set of skills that are highly valued in the workplace, as evidenced by the strong placements of our graduates. A unique feature of our program is the opportunity to take a large number of courses in applied economics and data analysis.

You will find strong student-faculty relationships, peer mentoring, attentive advisers, and coursework that gets you where you want to be, whether through the BA, BS, BS/MA, MA, and/or the Certificate in Applied Econometrics and Data Analysis.  Economics coursework also counts towards the Certificate in Actuarial Studies and the Graduate Certificate in Policy and Program Evaluation.

On our website, you can hear what our graduates have to say, find out what distinguishes UMSL | Economics, and learn about what our alumni are doing See In the Spotlight and Careers after UMSL.

I encourage you to visit us in person at the department's main office in 408 SSB.  Also, feel free to stop by at the Economics Resource Center (452 SSB) to meet some of our current students.
