Chief Marisa Smith serves as the university’s Director of Institutional Safety. Chief Smith has over 20 years of experience and is an FBI-National Academy graduate. She completed her undergraduate degree and M.Ed. in Adult & Higher Education from the University of Missouri—St. Louis. Chief Smith is committed to serving the UMSL community with excellence, partnership, and integrity, ensuring UMSL is a safe place where everyone can live, work, and pursue their educational endeavors.
