M-541 "Aviation Today" Child's Journal

ABSTRACT: Child’s journal of aviation history, circa 1930s.

SCOPE: This journal was compiled by a young “William Mehegan,” possibly of San Francisco, California. The pages feature designs and descriptions of various aircrafts, including a Douglas Airliner and the China Clipper. Some of the illustrations are colored and simpler, while other pencil drawings are more complex. Several pages were left blank, though some show evidence of erased math problems. The journal’s cover features two colored illustrations and the title “Aviation Today.”

EXTENT: Approximately 70 pages.

ACCESS: This collection can be viewed on-site in the Rare Book and Manuscripts Reading Room.  Some of the material may be photocopied, digitally scanned or photographed, subject to condition and other access restrictions.
