Dr. William H. Rogers joined the Economics Department at UMSL in 2004. He received his Ph.D. from Colorado State University. His research includes the areas of regional, urban, and public economics. Dr. Rogers is currently studying the organization of neighborhoods, particularly with homeowner associations, and its impact on the housing market. His major research project includes the construction of a spatial-temporal database documenting all private and public land-use restrictions in the Saint Louis metropolitan area. This database will illuminate the role land-use restrictions play in urban sprawl, neighborhood change, and homeownership. Dr. Rogers has taught in-class and on-line undergraduate courses, which include microeconomics, macroeconomics, money and banking, and public finance. He is a member of the American Economic Association and the Regional Science Association International.
