For Scouts:
UMSL will provide a minimum $5,250 Gold Merit Scholarship for active Scouting members who enroll at UMSL full-time; this award is not stackable with other institutional aid at UMSL and is renewable by completing 30 credit hours per year and maintaining a cumulative 2.5 GPA. Students must meet UMSL’s admission standards and enroll the same year they complete high school. Scouting members will be required to provide their member ID number at the time of application.
- Merit scholarships are available only for the Fall and Spring semesters and cannot be used during the summer semester.
- Incoming Freshman students are eligible to receive Merit Scholarships for a total of 8 semesters if they meet the above renewal criteria.
- Incoming Transfer Students, students transferring 24 credit hours or more, are eligible to receive merit scholarships for a total of 4 semesters if they meet the above renewal criteria.
For Scouting Staff:
UMSL will provide a 15% tuition reduction exclusively to Scouting staff enrolling part-time in undergraduate (less than 12 credit hours per semester) and graduate programs (less than 9 credit hours per semester) at UMSL. If you plan to pursue your undergraduate degree as a new, full-time student (24 credit hours or more per year), you will automatically be assessed for an UMSL Merit Scholarship. This award will replace your tuition discount from UMSL. Scouting employees must provide their employee number, department and title on the unique application linked below.
