Research in the field of nursing can take on a few forms. Our nursing program mainly focuses on researching the following topics:
Trauma-related pathology and treatment outcomes, psychiatric epidemiology, chemical dependency treatment/recovery, and evaluation of behavioral health interventions
Promoting health to reduce health disparities among vulnerable groups
Optimizing health outcomes for individuals and families and families affected by chronic illnesses including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, HIV, and cancer
Intervening before and during pregnancy and after birth to improve health outcomes of mothers, fathers, and their infants
Using technology, informatics, and healthcare systems design strategies to improve care delivery
