Nursing
Research in the field of nursing can take on a few forms. Our nursing program mainly focuses on researching the following topics:
- Trauma-related pathology and treatment outcomes, psychiatric epidemiology, chemical dependency treatment/recovery, and evaluation of behavioral health interventions
- Promoting health to reduce health disparities among vulnerable groups
- Optimizing health outcomes for individuals and families and families affected by chronic illnesses including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, HIV, and cancer
- Intervening before and during pregnancy and after birth to improve health outcomes of mothers, fathers, and their infants
- Using technology, informatics, and healthcare systems design strategies to improve care delivery
