As a student, you might be lost and wondering where to even begin. You came to the right place. Here are some tips to get the ball rolling and the gears turning:
1. Before you talk to any professors, it is a safe idea to brainstorm possible topics to research.
- See if there are any possible avenues for researching a hobby that you like
- What topic(s) interest you
- Think of any questions that you need answers for, they could lead you to a topic
2. Now that you hopefully have an idea or two, talk to one of your professors
- Initiate that conversation
- The entire process should be easier with a professor that you have or had
3. With an idea most likely ironed out, start any necessary background research
- Become knowledgeable about any possible arguments
- Look into any previous research in the topic
- Understand the context of the topic itself
