LOCATING ORGANIZATIONS & ORGANIZATION OFFICERS

Triton Connect is the most effective way to search for and locate any of the 90+ RSOs recognized at UMSL. By logging on and searching based on name, category, or keyword, users should have no trouble locating RSOs. Searching for RSOs on Triton Connect is easy. By selecting the “Groups” tab on the top of the home screen, you will be able to search our entire directory of available RSOs or select the blue “All Groups” button to scroll the entire list! By typing in the name of the group you are searching for or selecting a group type or category, a list of matching groups will be populated. If you find a group that you are interested in, feel free to click the “Join” button if available or email one of the group’s officers.

GRANTING OFFICER ACCESS TO YOUR GROUP’S PORTAL

Officer access gives members of your group the ability to edit/manage items within the group’s portal. Depending on the way your Officer Permissions are set up, current officers can add new members and adjust permissions within the portal for individual officers. Only current officers can grant officer access to the group’s portal. Once this access has been granted, an officer will have the ability to manipulate a variety of Triton Connect functions associated with your organization, unless limited using the Officer Permissions settings. Granting Officer Access is as easy as following the instructions below:

  1. Login to TritonConnect
  2. On the home page, select the Groups tab
  3. Select the group you are adding an officer for
    1. You should be directed to the groups’ dashboard AKA the behind the scenes of the group’s portal
  4. Select the Officers tile
  5. Once the Officers tile loads, click the brown “Add Officer” button
  6. After you add an officer, you should be able to select their officer position using the drop down next to their name. You can assign them the following roles: President, Treasurer, Staff/Faculty advisor, or a Custom Position
  7. You can then update officer permissions by clicking the Permissions button to the left of the Add Officer button

UPDATING ORGANIZATION INFO ON TRITON CONNECT

A person must be an officer in a group’s Triton Connect portal to make changes. See above for specific directions on adjusting officer access to members. It is recommended that only trusted organization officers be given this status. If you have trouble accessing or using Triton Connect, please contact Student Involvement at StudentOrganizations@umsl.edu. To update your RSO’s or edit your group’s portal information:

  1. Login to TritonConnect
  2. On the home page, select the Groups tab
  3. Select the group you want to edit
  4. You should be directed to the group’s dashboard
    1. AKA the behind the scenes of the group’s portal
  5. Select whatever tile you are making changes on

Please Note: All RSOs must maintain at minimum a President, Treasurer, and Faculty/Staff Advisor at all times. These three officers must be identified as such on the Officers page of the group’s portal. This information needs to be updated immediately following any changes such as elections, graduating officers, etc. This information must also be noted during the annual renewal process for RSOs.

Any request to change information in an uneditable field must be requested by sending an email to StudentOrganizations@umsl.edu.
