Florian Sichling is a social worker from Germany. He received his Ph.D. from the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago in 2015. His research examines the transition to adulthood of disadvantaged, immigrant, and minority youth in the U.S. and Germany. Prior to pursuing his doctorate, Dr. Sichling gained practice experience working with Turkish immigrant youth in West Germany and as an anti-racist organizer in East Germany.
As an associate professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, Dr. Sichling teaches graduate policy and research methods courses and serves as an MSW student advisor.
He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at the Wyman Center in St. Louis.
During the fall semester of 2023 and spring semester of 2024, Dr. Sichling will be on leave from UMSL to be a visiting professor at the University of Vienna (Austria).
