UMSL Retirees Association Holiday Luncheon Minutes

Glen Echo Country Club
President Connie Jeffries opened the program at 1:20 p.m. She introduced members of the UMSLRA board as well as attendees from the Alumni Association.
Guest speaker Robin Kimberlin, Director of Student Advocacy gave a presentation on the Triton Pantry. Robin detailed the successful establishment and operation of the Triton Pantry, highlighting its impact on student welfare and its role as a model for other universities. With a team of three, the Triton Pantry is open five days a week and serves approximately 800-900 students per year.
The minutes from the June 6, 2025 Annual Spring Luncheon and Business Meeting were approved.
The Treasurer’s report as of November 2025 was approved.
Joel Glassman successfully organized well-attended and engaging events for the past semester. Events planned for 2026 include:
Vice Chancellor Chris Spilling on reshoring generic drugs (February)
Professor Emeritus and Author Mary Troy on writing fiction (March)
Tour of Grand Center in the Spring (date, tbd.)
Tom Eyssell discussed opportunities to serve on the Retirees Association board. Interested individuals should contact Tom.
Nominations are open for the Chancellor's Retiree of the Year awards (one staff, one faculty). The application for the award will be online in the next few months.
Attendees were reminded to update their preferred email address in order to receive communication from the Retirees Association. Changes to your email address can be made in myHR under the Personal Details tab.
