Fall 2026

University of Missouri–St. Louis Fall 2026 Semester Calendar

March 9th, 2026 - Begins pre-registration by appointment for all eligible currently enrolled UMSL-St. Louis students, undergraduate and graduate, for FALL SEMESTER, 2026. Currently enrolled students will be sent their pre-registration appointment time via their "University Email Account".

March 23rd, 2026 - Begins registration for all students newly admitted or readmitted. Students new to campus for FALL SEMESTER, 2026 must be advised prior to registering for classes. Registration information will be sent via the official "University Email Account".

Fall Semester begins with the first day of class. It is expected that you plan your schedule to attend the first class and all scheduled classes.

Beginning the first day of the term there will be a $250.00 late registration fee assessed for students who have not previously registered for the Fall 2026 term.

August 24 Monday Classes begin 8:00 a.m.
August 30 Sunday Last day any student may enroll (enter a course for credit).
Last day Registrar's Office will move students automatically from the waitlist to open sessions.
September 7 Monday No classes, Labor Day holiday.
September 8 Tuesday Classes resume 8:00 a.m.
September 21 Monday Last day to drop a course or withdraw from school without receiving a grade.
Last day any student may place a course on Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory basis.
September 22 Tuesday First day all regular session dropped courses and withdrawals from school are assigned an EX grade.
October 8 Thursday Fall Break begins 12:00 a.m.
October 12 Monday Classes resume 8:00 a.m.
October 19 Monday Mid Semester
Last day to drop a course or withdraw from school without instructor approval. An EX grade will be assigned.
November 11 Wednesday No classes, Veteran's Day holiday.
November 16 Monday Last day a student may drop a course or withdraw from school. Instructor approval is required. A grade of EX or EX-F will be assigned.
November 17 Tuesday As of this date students with exigent circumstances that need to drop a class or withdraw from the term must provide documentation of exigent circumstances and receive approval from both the instructor and Dean. If approved, grades of EX or EX-F will be assigned.
November 21 Saturday Thanksgiving Break begins 5:00 p.m.
November 30 Monday Classes resume 8:00 a.m.
December 12 Saturday Classes end 5:00 p.m.
December 14 Monday Final examinations begin.
December 19 Saturday Fall Semester closes, end of day.
December 19 Saturday Fall Commencement.

Eight Week Two
October 19 Monday Eight Week Two classes begin 8:00 a.m.
October 22 Thursday Last day any student may enroll (enter a course for credit) in an Eight Week Two course.
Last day Registrar's Office will move students automatically from the waitlist to open sections.
November 2 Monday Last day to drop an Eight Week Tow course without receiving a grade.
Last day a student may place an Eight Week Two course on Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory basis.
November 3 Tuesday First day all Eight Week Two dropped courses and withdrawals from term are assigned an EX grade.
November 16 Monday Last day to drop or withdraw from an Eight Week Two course without instructor approval.
EX grade will be assigned.
November 21 Saturday Thanksgiving Break begins 5:00 p.m.
November 30 Monday Classes resume 8:00 a.m.
December 7 Monday Last day to drop or withdraw from an Eight Week Two course. Instructor approval is required.

January 12 Monday Last day to drop a WI course without instructor approval. Grade of EX will be assigned.
January 14 Wednesday Last day to drop a WI course with instructor approval. Grade of EX or EX-F assigned.
January 17 Saturday Winter Intersession ends.
Spring Semester
January 20 Tuesday Spring classes begin at 8:00 a.m.
January 26 Monday Last day to enroll or be moved from waitlist.
February 16 Monday Last day to drop a course or withdraw without a grade. Last day to choose S/U grading.
February 17 Tuesday EX grades begin for drops and withdrawals.
March 16 Monday Mid-semester. Last day to drop without instructor approval. EX grade will be assigned.
March 17 Tuesday Instructor approval required for drops. Grade of EX or EX-F assigned.
March 21 Saturday Spring recess begins at 5:00 p.m.
March 30 Monday Classes resume at 8:00 a.m.
April 20 Monday Last day to drop with instructor approval. Grade of EX or EX-F assigned.
April 21 Tuesday Withdrawals as of this date require exigent circumstances and approvals. EX or EX-F grade assigned.
May 9 Saturday Classes end at 5:00 p.m.
May 11 Monday Final examinations begin.
May 16 Saturday Spring semester closes.
May 16–17 Saturday–Sunday Commencement ceremonies.

April 20 Monday Last day to drop or withdraw without instructor approval. EX grade will be assigned.
April 21 Tuesday Instructor approval required for drops. Grade of EX or EX-F assigned.
May 4 Monday Last day to drop or withdraw with instructor approval. Grade of EX or EX-F assigned.
May 5 Tuesday Exigent circumstance withdrawals require documentation and dean + instructor approval. EX or EX-F assigned.
May 16 Saturday Eight Week Two session ends.
