Acappellooza Summer
For four days students are immersed in singing led by some of the world’s most prominent names in a cappella music, including members of the internationally renowned Ambassadors of Harmony and Dr. Jim Henry, Head of Choral Studies at UMSL. Music and learning tracks are sent to the students in advance so that they can come together to perfect their skills in preparation for a one-of-a-kind a cappella concert on Friday night. Additional opportunities for educational classes, guest performances, tag singing, a movie night and more.

Advocacy Leadership Program
Students will engage in a variety of workshops and activities emphasizing self-care, areas of advocacy, awareness of child abuse and neglect, matters of social justice, and advocacy career fields.
This 4-day workshop will teach high school students about advocacy areas and ways of advocating.

Music Camps - Instrumental
Each year, the department of music coordinates a variety of instrumental camps. They have included Keyboard camp, Drum and World Percussion camp, and Strings camp among others. Students discover new ways to practice, easy ways to help each note played sound better, and learn many shortcuts that professionals use to help them sound better and have more fun in the process. The days will be filled with lessons, classes, conversations, and activities led by our internationally acclaimed UMSL music faculty and our guest artists.
Engineering Camp
Students will be immersed in hands-on experiences in civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering led by UMSL faculty and staff, with guest speakers from various local industries. Activities are exciting, interactive, and designed to give students real-world exposure to engineering fields. Students will also have opportunities to ask questions, get answers, and prepare for college.

U-CREATE Summer Camp
U-CREATE Summer Camp offers sports, crafts, recreation, and team-building activities from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, with CPR/AED and First Aid certified staff. Space is limited to 50 campers per week; registration is first come, first served. Payment plans are available for weekly fees (not add-ons). N
UMSL Esports Gaming Academy
The Esports Gaming Academy is a one-week program for 6-12th grade students interested in competitive gaming to develop their skills and learn about strategy in a high-tech environment centered around Esports.
Optometry High School Enrichment Program
Organized by UMSL’s College of Optometry and Office of Precollegiate Student Services. Within this program, high school students have the opportunity to learn more about becoming an optometrist, a primary eye health care provider. This program provides hands-on activities and presentations about pursuing a Doctor of Optometry degree. Students will also engage in professional and personal development workshops.
Writers @ Play
Writers at Play is a weeklong summer middle school writing camp hosted by the Gateway Writing Project for middle school students entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in the fall of 2025. Participants will engage in daily opportunities for writing, structured exploration, and team building, culminating in a publication celebration on Friday.
