UMSL Facilities Management Overview
The University of Missouri–St. Louis campus provides a dynamic and welcoming environment for today’s students, spanning 470 acres in suburban St. Louis County. With a mix of historic and modern academic buildings, residence halls, and natural landscapes, UMSL serves as the largest public research university in eastern Missouri. The Facilities Management Department plays a critical role in creating and maintaining this environment—working behind the scenes to support student success, faculty research, and community engagement.
Facilities Management is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance, safety, and daily operations of the university’s physical campus. The department is composed of several integrated service units, each with a specialized focus but all united by a commitment to excellence, stewardship, and sustainability.
