PRIMED℠ Institute in Character Education
The PRIMED℠ Institute in Character Education (PICE) is a five-day immersion experience designed todeepen understanding of character education and strengthen the people who lead it. Each summer, educators and school leaders come together for a full week of learning, reflection, and collaboration focused on building schools where character is lived, taught, and sustained.
PRIMED is intentionally designed for school-based leadership teams, giving educators the rare opportunity to step away from daily responsibilities and spend meaningful time learning and planning together. While most participants attend as teams, individuals are also welcome and consistently find strong connection within the group.
What the Institute Focuses On
The PRIMED℠ Institute is built around three core goals:
- First, participants develop a strong understanding of the fundamentals of effective character education, grounded in research and decades of practice.
- Second, the Institute emphasizes team building and experiential learning. Participants do not simply learn about character education—they experience it through dialogue, activities, and shared reflection.
- Third, PRIMED supports action planning for the upcoming school year. By the end of the week, teams leave with clarity, direction, and practical next steps they can bring back to their schools.
What the Experience Is Like
PRIMED℠ is highly interactive by design. Sessions are discussion-based, participatory, and reflective, allowing participants to learn from expert facilitators and from one another. To preserve the depth and quality of the experience, enrollment is limited to 30 participants.
This small cohort size creates a learning environment that is focused, relational, and engaging, where every voice matters.
