Event Insurance Requirements
All clients must purchase Comprehensive General Liability Insurance through a separate insurance carrier. The University cannot provide insurance directly, but can provide information for agents and carriers that can provide this insurance. Please forward the the requirements below to your insurer so as to ensure full required coverage for your event. If you have any questions, please contact the Coordinator. Once you've received your certificate of insurance, please foward to the Coordinator via mail, email or fax.
The recommended event and wedding insurance providers are as follows:
Comprehensive General Liability Insurance MUST meet the following requirements:
The insurance policy shall name "The Curators of the University of Missouri; One University Boulevard; St. Louis, MO 63121" as an "additional insured."
The coverage amount is $1,000,000.
The coverage dates include both rehearsal and ceremony dates (for weddings).
The bride and groom (or family members) are listed as the insured.
The Insurer/Producer name and contact information must be included on the Certificate of Insurance.
The Certificate of Insurance must provide 30 days’ advance written notice for any modification, change or cancellation of any component of the insurance coverage.
The venue name, "University of Missouri-St. Louis; One University Boulevard; St. Louis, MO 63121" is included as "Certificate Holder."
All insurance policy(s) shall provide that the required insurance shall not be cancelled or altered, except after 10 days written notice has been given to the "The Curators of the University of Missouri" at 220 Woods Hall, St. Louis, Missouri.
A certificate of insurance evidencing the above requirements is to be filed with the Curators at 220 Woods Hall, 14 days prior to the date of the performance/event. All insurance coverages shall be written by carriers which are acceptable to and approved by "The Curators of the University of Missouri."
