January 27: 4.00 pm till 12.00 midnight
January 28:  8.00 am till 12.00 midnight
January 29: 8.00 am – 5.00 pm

The Global Game Jam is an annual event in which participants design and create digital as well as non-digital games over the course of one weekend. It is organized by the International Game Developers Association. At each site, participants gather to develop ideas, form small groups, create new, creative, innovative games, and present them to their peers and the global community, all in the course of 48 hours.

Last year, in January 2011, the event generated teams in 44 countries, who created over 1,500 games. This year, about 75 attendees are expected at the UMSL event ranging from high school students to working professionals. The event will generate enormous amounts of creativity, inspiration, goodwill, and networking.

To register for the event, please follow the instructions posted at http://www.stlgamejam.com/.

ISPC meetings are free and open to all students, alumni, and faculty. The meetings are announced on the undergraduate and graduate IS student listservs and the Campus Calendar. For more information, please contact Dr. Dinesh Mirchandani.

Three meetings were held in Fall 2011. These featured Mr. Paul Lach, Dr. Jerrold Siegel, and Ms. Elonka Dunin.
