The optometric community was saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Stuart Richer in October 2022. Dr. Richer helped countless optometry students, residents, optometrists, and patients learn about the importance of ocular nutrition, among many other topics. Along with UMSL faculty member Dr. Gerald Franzel, Dr. Richer presented an annual Nutrition and the Eye Symposium at UMSL. We hope to continue Dr. Richer’s work through future CE offerings.
