Graduate Scholarship Program Information
The Nonprofit Management & Leadership Program at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and The Trio Foundation of St. Louis are pleased to announce a Graduate Scholarship Program.
Current or prospective UM-St. Louis graduate students who are interested in earning the 18-hour graduate NPM&L certificate are eligible. Current or prospective students include those pursuing a graduate degree in conjunction with the certificate, such as the Master’s in Public Policy Administration, Master’s in Social Work, or a master’s degree in other fields, as well as those who simply want to earn the certificate by itself.
Scholarship awards will typically range from $2,500 to $3,500, and will be based on both financial need and merit.
The Graduate Scholarship Program is intended to support students who are committed to pursuing careers in nonprofit organizational management and leadership, and exhibit promise to be effective in such positions. Special, although not exclusive, attention is aimed at supporting and encouraging women and minorities who are committed to such careers.
Selection Process and Criteria
Applications for the 2008 scholarship are due by July 11, 2008.
Applications will be evaluated on the basis of financial need and merit. Merit will include both academic performance, with a minimum eligibility requirement of a 3.0 GPA in graduate and undergraduate studies, as well as commitment to and promise of effectiveness in nonprofit management and leadership.
Finalists for the scholarship will be required to participate in an interview with the Graduate Scholarship Selection Committee, composed of leaders from our region's nonprofit sector. Finalists must be available for an interview on campus, Friday, July 18, 2008. The scholarship awards will apply to the 2008-09 academic year.
