How it Works...
A study on nonprofit board recruitment by the Volunteer Consulting Group found that:

• Nationally, nearly 1.8 million board seats become available each year, adding to a backlog of 1.2 million standing openings.
• Board candidate shortfall is most acute for the small to medium size organizations lacking sizable funds or an established brand.
• Most boards under-represent minority populations. Currently, minorities constitute 14 percent of board members, compared to 27 percent of the general population.
• Nonprofits needing board members often lack the resources needed to recruit individuals, and individuals, wanting to serve, do not know where to find new organizations.

The Alliance Members in BoardLinkStL understand the needs surrounding board recruitment. We recruit, prepare, and link interested individuals to meaningful service opportunities through innovative technology. BoardLinkStL Information Sessions are available for interested organizations.
