NetTutor

Welcome!

If you are an undergraduate student experiencing a challenge with your course material (ex. homework, essays, notes, course concepts, studying), then NetTutor may be a great option for you.

NetTutor is powered by a third-party vendor, which means the tools and experience are provided through an external system. While we’ve selected this service to expand access and flexibility, please note that we cannot guarantee every aspect of the experience. Here’s how it works:

  • Log into Canvas with your UMSL SSO and password.
  • Click on the course on your homepage labeled Canvas Online Course Overview.
  • Find the link that says NetTutor in the navigation sidebar on the left*
  • Click the title with the subject area of your choice.
  • Follow the online directions.

👥 Finding Your Best Fit: Tutors on this platform have varied styles, backgrounds, and areas of expertise—and while many students find a great match on the first try, it’s perfectly okay if you don’t! If your session doesn’t quite meet your expectations, feel free to hop back into the waiting room and connect with another tutor. You deserve support that works for you!

Video Sessions Now Available!
Tutoring sessions automatically open in a chat format.  If you wish to have an audio or video session, let your tutor know in the chat!

If you have feedback or encounter technical challenges, let us know—we’re here to help improve the process however we can.

If you prefer in-person tutoring options, check out our Walk-In Tutoring as well as UMSL’s additional tutoring resources.

NetTutor is only visible when your instructor opts in. If it is not on your Course Canvas sidebar, please try accessing through the Canvas Online Course Overview Course.
