Meningitis and MMR Requirement

Meningitis

• Missouri State Law and UMSL campus policy requires all students who reside in on-campus housing to have received the meningitis vaccine. 
• You must show proof of a meningitis shot at age 16 years or older. 
  • If you DID NOT receive a meningitis shot after your 16th birthday, you will need to get a booster shot. 
• Meningitis vaccine. Students must receive either MCV4 (Menactra®) or MPSV4 (Menveo®) to meet this requirement. Students who do not comply may be subject to removal from campus housing.
  
  • Please submit your shot records to our office by mail, fax or drop off during business hours.

MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella)

• Required for students living in campus housing
  For students who have been vaccinated, the first dose must have been given at age 12 months or later. The second dose must have been given at least one month after the first one.
• Students also have the option of providing documentation
  showing titer (blood test) results proving immunity to measles, mumps and rubella.
• A waiver is possible on the basis of medical or religious reasons.

Health Services offers the meningitis & MMR vaccines, by appointment only. The cost is $110 for meningitis and $75 for MMR. We accept cash, check or you may charge it to your student account.
