Executive Panel Discuss"Promoting International Differences"

Being a culturally flexible professional in an increasingly globalized business environment is essential in today's marketplace. Acceptable business practices vary from country to country, so companies must learn to adapt to each culture's norms in order to effectively conduct business worldwide.  This workshop discusses strategies to help marketing yourself in the international workforce and reinforce the importance of cultural adaptability in an international career.

  • Alumni Panel: "A Whole New World"
UMSL alumni give helpful hints how to get your foot in the door. Young professionals talk about what strategies worked for them, their work experiences, and how they got to where they are today. They will also share their thoughts on new and changing workforce dynamics in the wake of the pandemic and an ever-evolving virtual era.

  • Women’s Panel: "The Opportunity for Change"
We are celebrating women in international business. The women’s only panel will discuss both the challenges and opportunities of being a businesswoman in a male dominant field.

  • Entrepreneur Workshop: "Celebration of Success"
Our guest speakers will share the experiences on their entrepreneurial journey navigating opportunities through the pandemic.

  • Mentorship/Marketing Workshop: "Creating a Network that Works for You"
Networking is an essential part of being a successful businessperson. Mr. Bell will discuss the art of networking - who to network with, how to properly network and what to ask for. Learn how to make the initial contact, generate meaningful relationships, and utilize the contacts to your advantage.
