UMSL is transforming campus spaces to better serve students and alumni, foster innovation and strengthen our community. Through a combination of public support and donor investment, we are reimagining key facilities across campus. Explore current, completed and upcoming projects below.
Matching Gift Challenges – Double your impact through June 30:
Every gift counts. Your contribution, at any amount, will be matched dollar-for-dollar. All donors will be invited and recognized at the opening celebration event.

Arts Administration Building
A new home for UMSL’s music and art programs, the renovated Arts Administration Building will feature studios, galleries and a recital hall intended to honor the Arianna String Quartet—Missouri’s only professional quartet in residence. The recital hall will serve as a premier venue for student and faculty performances, ensemble rehearsals and community arts events.
A generous donor has made a $250,000 commitment to support this effort, which includes a $150,000 matching challenge now underway to inspire additional support. All gifts will be matched dollar for dollar up to $150,000 through June 30. This campaign will culminate in formally naming the Arianna String Quartet Recital Hall, honoring the quartet’s legacy and contributions to the arts at UMSL and beyond.
All gifts will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $150,000 through June 30. All donors, at any gift level, will be invited to and recognized at the opening event.
Gifts of $1,000+ (just $84/month) will be recognized on an Arianna String Quartet Recital Hall plaque; gifts of $10,000+ will also be listed on the building’s donor wall
Richter Family Welcome and Alumni Center
A new “front door” for UMSL students and alumni, this 31,000-square-foot facility will house Admissions, Student Services, Alumni Engagement and event space. Designed to create lasting first impressions and lifelong connections, the center will support prospective students, current Tritons and more than 117,000 alumni.
In grateful appreciation of its new home, the UMSL Alumni Association has pledged to support this key project by matching all gifts, dollar for dollar, up to $150,000. UMSL alumni are invited to join the Association in making this new space a reality.
All gifts will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $150,000 through June 30. All donors, at any gift level, will be invited to and recognized at the opening event.

Located in the academic core of campus, the facility will foster collaboration and strengthen preparation for the next generation of educators and counselors.

Libraries Renovations
Renovations will transform 8,500 square feet of UMSL’s libraries into a modern, student-centered space with collaborative study areas, an expanded café, a new quad-facing entrance and improved access to the St. Louis Mercantile Library. Plans also include a new Gallery of Regional Art and staff spaces that support innovation, instruction and public engagement.
