The University of Missouri–St. Louis grants credit hours to entering freshmen who, through their performance on College Entrance Examination Board Advanced Placement Tests, demonstrate proficiency in certain college-level courses such as biology, chemistry, English, foreign languages, history, mathematics, political science, and physics.
The examinations are administered in high schools during May of each year, are graded on a scale of 1-5 by national committees, and are furnished to the University of Missouri-St. Louis upon the student's request. In order to be eligible for credit, students must score 3 or higher. Advanced standing may be earned as indicated below:
