GLBT & Allies Resource Center
The GLBT & Allies Resource Center serves the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus community by promoting a safe, open, and affirming learning environment for all persons. The Center maintains a small library and reading room, with a collection specifically devoted to GLBT issues, activism, history, and culture. Works which focus more generally on human sexuality, social justice, and diversity are also included in the collection. Free resources from groups such as the Human Rights Campaign, Lambda, Promo, PFLAG, Growing American Youth, St. Louis Effort for AIDS, and the ACLU are also provided. Referrals and contact information for national and international GLBT organizations, websites, conferences, scholarships, and resource centers are also provided.
The Center represents a Safe Space for GLBT persons and their allies, and actively lobbies for equality on campus and throughout the University of Missouri system. The Center also maintains a close relationship with the campus Safe Zone project, and with PRIZM, the campus GLBT student alliance. A variety of programming is sponsored and co-sponsored by the Center, and a GLBT Diversity Report newsletter is published quarterly.
