University Research News

  • NEW WORKSHOP: Getting to Know Grants Beginning June 4, 2008, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., 229 JC Penney Bldg., the ORA will offer monthly "Getting to Know Grants" sessions. Held the first Wednesday of each month, the workshops will cover a range of topics, including financial reports, policies and procedures, and roles and responsibilities. One or two topics/policies will be covered each session.

Who should attend? EVERYONE with any role in administering grants.

Send topic suggestions for future sessions to Karen Boyd.

  • Export Controls The federal government has implemented rules and regulations for exporting goods and services to other countries.

The term "export" applies to more than the shipment of goods or services. Activities that may be affected include: collaborative research with foreign nationals (including students); presentation of unpublished data and findings, especially at conferences; sending research equipment/tools to foreign destinations; training foreign internationals how to use equipment deemed as export controlled.
