Grants.gov's Pure Edge Software: Workaround for Problems

Information Technology Services (ITS) at UM-St. Louis has received reports of the Pure Edge software provided by Grants.gov failing to open saved grant proposals. ITS has engaged the maker of the software for a permanent fix, but in the interim we have developed a workaround.

  1. Right-click on the grant file you are trying to open and left-click Properties.
  2. In the Properties window, click on the “Change… “ button.
  3. In the Open With window, click on Internet Explorer then OK.
  4. Click Apply and OK on the Properties window.
  5. The Pure Edge viewer will now open inside of Internet Explorer and will not give any error messages.
