University of Missouri Offers New Resource for Classified Research Projects
(Oct. 31, 2007) Leon M. Hoffsette was recently appointed Facility Security Officer for The Curators of the University of Missouri.
The UM System holds a Department of Defense Secret-Level Facility Clearance (FCL),
which allows University employees (faculty and staff) and consultants to obtain and hold
security clearances and possess classified materials and documents on a need-to-know
basis for use in research and development.
Should you, as a UM-St. Louis researcher, accept a prime or subcontract with an associated "Contract Security classification Specification" (DD Form 254) or a security clause in the contract, the Office of Research Administration will engage Hoffsette to help work through the security processes and requirements associated with classified research projects.
