Employers/individuals posting part-time, full-time, internship, cooperative education, or other opportunities must abide by employer standards of ethical conduct established by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). In addition, employers must conform to the following guidelines established by UMSL Career Services:


Guidelines for Posting Jobs and Viewing Resumes

Career Services MAY post a position if the following information is provided:

  • Employer/Organization Name
  • Contact Person’s Name and Title
  • Contact Information (Address, Phone, Fax, E-mail)
  • Job Title
  • Job Description
  • Pay Status (paid, unpaid, or stipend position) 

By default, jobs are posted for 30 days. If the employer’s position is filled within 30 days, the employer is requested to de-activate the vacancy or notify Career Services to de-activate the vacancy. If the position is still open, Career Services may post the position for an additional period of time upon the employer’s request.

Career Services only posts job opportunities. Business opportunities will be placed in a designated binder in our Career Resource Room.

The employer is requested to provide hiring information on UMSL students and recent graduates. Information needed includes the following:

  • Name of New Hire
  • Job Title
  • Employment Start Date
  • Starting Salary 

Career Services also collects information on job offers that were not accepted. All offer/hire data is confidential; this information is used only for statistical analysis and reports.

On Campus Interviewing Guidelines
Career Services complies with NACE guidelines in relation to on-campus interviewing.
