Building practical financial skills through education that meets people where they are

Education is central to the mission of the Center for Excellence in Financial Counseling. CEFC develops and supports educational initiatives that strengthen real‑world financial decision‑making and build confidence among students, professionals, and community learners.

Our educational efforts emphasize practical skills, applied learning, and engagement—ensuring that participants gain tools they can use immediately and carry forward beyond the classroom.

Triton Financial Wellness Program Powered by CommunityAmerica Credit Union

The Triton Financial Wellness Program is a campus based financial education initiative designed to help students build real world money skills for college and life after graduation. Through a combination of flexible online learning, interactive workshops, and optional one on one coaching, the program supports students as they navigate everyday financial choices.

Rather than emphasizing theory or complex financial language, the program emphasizes practical, accessible learning that helps students feel more confident managing their money.

Program Experience

Participants in the Triton Financial Wellness Program engage in:

  • Short, self paced online learning activities that build core financial knowledge
  • Interactive in person workshops designed to be hands on, engaging, and relevant to real student experiences
  • Optional one on one financial coaching with certified financial coaches in a supportive, judgment free setting
  • Opportunities to track progress and stay motivated throughout the program

Together, these elements create an approachable learning experience that supports both immediate needs and long term financial well being.

What Students Gain

Through participation, students develop:

  • Practical strategies for managing spending and building financial stability
  • Greater confidence in making everyday financial decisions
  • Tools to navigate credit, budgeting, and future financial goals
