Employer Education Partnership Verification Form FAQs

The University of Missouri - St. Louis is pleased to offer the Employer Education Partnership Verification Form (EVF). This Form is multi purposed and is available for our Employer Partners only to verify employment and reimbursement, while at the same time, deferring payment of the reimbursable portion of their educational fees until the date specified each semester.

The EVF form will need to be completed each term in order for a student to be reviewed for Corporate Partner benefits.

How can I benefit from EVF?

If your employer is partnered with UMSL and pays part or all of your educational fees, but pays you after the semester has ended, you may be eligible for a deferred payment through the EVF form. All finance charges and late payment fees will be suspended through the dates of your participation, and you will also avoid cancellation for non-payment. You will also be allowed to pre-register for the next semester while covered by EVF.

Is there a fee for EVF?

No. For our Corporate Partners, in addition to allowing a deferment of some or all of your payment, this form is required in order for you to be considered for other Corporate Partner discounts; therefore, there is no participation fee.

What are my advantages to complete the EVF?

The sooner you complete this form, the better chance you have for being approved, if otherwise eligible, for Corporate Partner benefits and for deferment of the reimbursable portion of your tuition only charges without finance charges and late fees.

Once approved, there will not be any finance charges or late payment fees applied during the semester of your participation, no monthly minimum payments, and you will avoid course cancellation and be able to pre-register for your next semester. However, if payment is not made by the set due date, finance charges, late payment fees will start accruing, a late processing fee will be applied, and your next semester classes will be at risk of cancellation.

How can I participate?

You will need to attach the documents requested on your EVF form when filling out your application, along with any fees not covered by your employer’s reimbursement policy. Each EVF form is unique in regard to the attachments required but will include some form or documentation to verify current employment and reimbursement eligibility. University approval is required prior to acceptance.

Complete the online EVF Application.

How often do I need to submit an application?

A new application will need to be submitted every semester. Your eligibility must be verified for each semester you attend the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

Is there a deadline for submitting my application?

Yes, your application must be received no later than one week prior to your first payment due date. Please do not complete the EVF until you are enrolled in the term for which the form applies, or the application will be rejected, and a new one will be required once enrolled.

Payment for fees not covered by your employer’s reimbursement policy will need to be paid at the time of your application submission.

Are there other expenses not covered in this EVF agreement, and when are these fees due?

You will be required to pay all fees that are not part of your employers’ reimbursement program. For example: If your employer will pay 100% of tuition, but will not pay for books or health services fees, you would be required to pay those fees out of pocket.

After completing my courses, how long do I have to submit payment in full to the University of Missouri–St. Louis?

You will have approximately 30 days from the end of the semester to clear your balance with the university. (Your EVF application will list the exact due date.)

Will I continue to get monthly billing statements?

Yes, you will continue to receive your monthly billing statements just as a reminder of the balance due to the university. New charges that appear on your billing statement should be paid by the billing due date.

Will I be allowed to register for an upcoming semester, while waiting for reimbursement from my employer?

Yes, with an EVF on file for the term, the university will allow you to pre-register. But you will be cancelled from your pre-registered classes if your prior semester payment is not made by the due date stipulated on the EVF form.

What if my employer has not reimbursed me or my grades are not acceptable, and I am unable to make payment?

If your employer does not reimburse you before the due date, you will still be expected to pay the balance. If you cannot make the payment by the due date on the form, and since the EVF is an extended payment plan, there will be a late processing fee of $100.00 applied to the balance. Finance charges and late payment fees will begin to accrue as well. Any newly registered courses will be cancelled if payment is not made by the payment in full deadline.

Is my employer held responsible for payment of my fees?

No, it is the responsibility of the student to remit payment of fees. The University will not bill your employer for any fees.

Can I negotiate another due date?

No, since EVF has already has an extended due date, your payment due date cannot be extended further.
