Alumni Tutoring

Alumni Tutoring is another way UTC forms partnerships. Working with both the office Alumni Engagement and UMSL Alumni, UTC has created an opportunity to provide tutoring to students from expert individuals in the career field.

Alumni tutors provide invaluable learning experiences to the students they assist. Students can capitalize on the flexibility and knowledge Alumni Tutors provide to students needing tutorial support. Alumni Tutors undergo the same extensive training as peer tutors to ensure they have not only the content knowledge, but they are also adequately prepared to assist students in a tutoring environment.

Alumni Tutoring provides students with an individualized tutoring plan. Undergraduate students are encouraged to use this option if they need assistance on a regular basis throughout the semester. This provides students with a one-on-one tutoring session and allows them to form a positive, cooperative relationship with their tutor. Students receiving Alumni Tutoring can meet with their tutor up to five hours per week, per subject area requested. To receive this form of tutorial support, students need to place a request online by completing the UTC in-take form.
