January 16, 2026 – Report # 26-011 – 1:58 p.m. Occurred on January 16, 2026, between 1:58 p.m. and 2:26 p.m. FIRE ALARM-RESEARCH BUILDING. The fire alarm was set off in the Research complex. The UMSL Police along with the fire department and university maintenance personnel, responded to the scene. Evacuation was already in progress, and there were no signs of a fire or smoke. It was later determined that the alarm was set off accidentally by contractors/construction working on the alarm system. All occupants were allowed back into the building. Disposition: Inactive.
