Research
The Supply Chain Analytics Center of Excellence (SCA-CoE) focuses on developing advanced, data-driven decision support tools to create efficient, safe, resilient, equitable, and sustainable supply chain solutions across diverse industries like manufacturing, agriculture, energy, healthcare, and construction. The Supply Chain & Analytics faculty engage in a wide range of theoretical and applied research projects. The web pages of individual faculty members highlight research interests and activities.
Methodological Focus:
-
Tackling large-scale combinatorial and stochastic optimization problems.
-
Integrating optimization, machine learning, simulation, and statistics to address complex decision-making under uncertainty.
-
Advancing explainable and trustworthy AI methods.
Application Areas:
SCA-CoE addresses supply chain challenges at regional, national, and global levels, including:
-
Pharmaceuticals: Redesigning API manufacturing supply chains across strategic, tactical, and operational levels.
-
Agribusiness: Supporting climate-smart farming and resilient, equitable supply chain design.
-
Emerging Technologies: Using drones, electric vehicles, blockchain, IoT, and indoor farming for innovative supply chain systems.
-
Transportation: Enhancing inland waterways and Mississippi River logistics through inter-modal network design and uncertainty-aware planning.
