NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT 'IMMORAL' POLTICKING by Joe Osborne Mr. Peacock I am happy that you voted and I am sorry that the turn out was not to your satisfaction. Although this election reminded you of high school, your paper reminds me of just plain negativity. If you had investigated your reporting you would have discovered that a VP candidate not on the Progressive Slate was handing out free sodas and all sides were not practicing fare politics. Unfortunately, nothing was done about the illegal or should I say "immoral" politicking! That is the sad truth. The University should enforce guidelines for these procedures not just have them written in a manual, knowing the problem will go away. It is obvious that you wanted the Appel/Reed ticket and that is fine but only one person showed up at my organizations front door and allowed us a discussion time (AT OUR HOUSE). That my friend is politics. Organizations will aid in building this University in the future and once faculty, staff, and you The Current realizes that, then this campus will kick ass! But it can't be that easy, our job here at The Current is to ridicule, embarrass and print "slightly" incorrect quotes just so it sounds better! I tell you what cover some positive news talk about the BookSwap or Graduation something that will leave me with a smile! Remember your not going to be under Doug anymore. (Doug you're a hell of a writer but you just like writing about hell.) Anyway good luck to everybody at the Current and congratulations Dave! I am graduating so I will not be able to be depressed every Monday after my dose of the Current. You might say well then don't read it but for some reason I care. (I am getting misty). OK here is some useful information, for all you Business majors who are mentally handicapped when it comes to numbers AVOID DR. RONEN for Operations Management! Last thought Mr. Peacock, why don't you run next year and show all these high schoolers how to run an election, you college stud. (Just some food for thought). |
