In spite of the amazing diversity of plant species present in the tropics, this caterpillar rests on a leaf of the only plant species it can feed.

The known number of species that are becoming extinct due to man intervention of nature is frightening. However, the number of species that are becoming extinct "behind the scenes", species we do not know that are in danger, species that we do not know we are harming, is terrifying.

When we loose one plant species, we also are putting in danger the species that depend on that plant for food or shelter.

I am interested on understanding the general patterns of global biodiversity and the way the interaction between species changes with these patterns.
