THE BIOLOGY
GRADUATE STUDENT ASSOCIATION
at
the University of Missouri - Saint Louis

Thank you for visiting our
website, we are a recognized student organization that represents the graduate
students in the Department of Biology at the University of Missouri - Saint Louis. Every day, we perform a
variety of academic and social activities that prepare us for our future
careers either in academia or the private sector. Here in our program everybody
smiles and students from all research labs interact on a regular basis making
us a group of very close friends. As a recognized organization we have a set of
bylaws and
regulations that norm our activities. We also have an incredible soccer team
representing our department made up by real Jaguarundis.

We have a very dynamic
graduate program and we interact regularly with postdocs and faculty. In other
words, a Ph.D. student spends on average at UM - Saint Louis 6 of the best six
years of his/her life. We support our program in different ways; for instance
we elect two of the speakers of our department's seminar series, we manage and
keep running our own computer lab, we have reading groups in many areas, we
provide other services like our Glossary of
English-Spanish terms in Biology, Ecology and Evolution, and many more. We also
have very close interactions with the students at Saint Louis University
and Washington University. Moreover we have close
research ties with the Saint Louis Zoo and the Missouri Botanical Garden.

If you are looking for a
