Frequently Asked Questions

How many previous college credits do I need to have completed in order to apply to pathways?
A:
Pathways is designed for students who have accumulated anywhere between 24 and 90 hours of college coursework.

How much does the program cost?
A:
The overall cost depends on how many classes an individual student still needs to complete their degree. However, the per-credit-hour cost UMSL offers is one of the best in the area. To see a breakdown of current tuition and fee rates, visit the cashiers office.

How long does the program take to complete?
A:
Although we anticipate that many students will be able to complete the program in under two years, the honest answer is—it depends! Multiple factors--including how many transferable credits a student has, which emphasis areas a student is interested in, and how many classes a student wishes to take at any given time--determine the time to completion. An advisor will help you consider each of these factors and put together a game plan so that you’ll know what kind of time frame you will be committing to for your degree.

What is the general class structure? Are classes all online or all face to face?
A:
This depends on which emphasis areas a student is interested in. Many of our classes are offered strictly on-line, while others are offered in the evening, on the UMSL campus, in the traditional face-to-face format. This blend allows for flexibility and helps students to determine which format is truly best for their individual learning styles.
